Version 3.5 of Dapresy Survey Manager contains several useful features and improvements that will increase the usability:
- Predefine reports in Chart Lab/Chart Creator
- Open and change settings in a predefined chart in a static report
- A lot more possibilities with Derived variables
- Reporting of Numerical variables
- A new report type for reporting files with hierarchical filters
- Improved layout and information in Employee/Stakeholder projects
Build predefined (static) reports in Chart Lab/Chart Creator
It is now possible to create a predefined report (static report) from the dynamic parts of the system instead of entering the administration pages. When a chart has been created in Chart Lab you can press the button “Add to Reports”. On that new page you can save the chart and publish it to report holders.

On the Add to reports page you create reports and you create folders within the report.

The folder structure is very practical and enables the user to:
- Copy folders (with all slides)
- Apply filters to a folder (and the slides in it)
After the report and folder structure is saved you create slides by generating charts in Chart Lab. The principle is the same as for My Reports.

Content and settings for a slide can be changed by clicking the edit icon. All settings for the chart will be loaded and you can just make the modifications you want and click Update.
When a report is finished it can be distributed to the report holders in the project.

Work with a chart in a predefined report
A predefined chart report was earlier static. Now it is possible to open up the chart in Chart Lab and analyze the content deeper by applying filters and changing the settings. The drill down functionality is accesed by clicking the button “Open in Chart Lab” at the bottom of the chart.

Derived variables
The advanced derived variables now contain a lot of new functionality.
Earlier only multiple variables have been possible to create, but now it is also possible to create the following variable types:
- Single choice
- Single choice scale
- Open numeric
- Open text

For single and multiple choice variables you create an answer list where each respondent will qualify for 0, 1 or several answer alternatives based on filter criteria in the created expression. Possible parts of the expression are:
- Variable list and answer alternative list. Also other derived variables are available.
- Open ended answers (for example Q_Open LIKE “Company X” or Q_Num > 15)
- Interview date (for example InterviewDate > “2010-01-01”)
- Date functions such as YEAR, MONTH, DAY for qualifying respondents that for example have answered a certain month
- AND, OR, NOT, () operators
- COUNTRESPONSE function that counts the number of answers given to a multiple choice question. It can be used for example to qualify loyal customers or similar.
For open numeric and open text variables each respondent will be given a numeric or text value based on the given expression. Possible parts of the expression are:
- Variable list and answer alternative list. Also other derived variables are available.
- Open ended answers
- Manually added numeric or text values
- Mathematical operands (+, -, *, /)
- Interview date and Date functions (see above)
- IF (for example IF(Q1 = 1, 1, 2)
- COUNTRESPONSE (see above)
- COUNT function that gives the number of respondents that have answered one or several answer alternatives
- PERCENT function that gives the percent share for one or several answer alternative out of the total respondent base
- MEAN function that gives the mean value for several answer alternatives based on the respondent base that answered to those alternatives and the Factor given to each alternative.
Other news are
- The possibility to manually edit, copy and paste the text in the expression which saves a lot of time when creating several answer alternatives with similar content.
- The Validate button where you can see how many respondents that matches the expression.

Report Numerical variables
It is now possible to create charts based on open numerical variables (both imported and derived). The charts can be filtered and settings can be applied just as for categorical questions.
In the question list you can filter on question type.

There are three different report types for reporting on numerical variables.
File report
File report is a new Report Type which enables different types of media files to be uploaded and linked to the Hierarchical filters existing in the Brand Express Project. This will be helpful in for example Mystery shopping projects.
The currently supported file formats are: *.doc(x), *.ppt(x), *.xls(x), *.pdf, *jpeg, *.jpg, *.bmp, *.png, *.gif, *.txt, *.emf, *.sav, *.zip, *.wmv, *.avi, *.mpeg, *.mpg, *.3gp, *.flv, *.mov, *.rm, *.dat, *.vob, *.divx";
The files will be uploaded in a zipped folder structure reflecting the Hierarchical filter structure. Several uploads can be done, and each one will have a name and a date. The Report will group the files per date when being shown.
Work process:
1. Download a Folder Structure Template, which is a folder copy of the Hierarchical filter structure already imported to the project (which is mandatory). Note: The folder structure can also be created manually if the folders are named accordingly to the nodes in the hierarchical filter.
2. Add files to the folders
3. Set a date, name and import the folder structure by selecting the ZIP file
4. User deletes separately an uploaded folder and all the belonging files

Output:
The user will be able to see all files as thumbnails within the respective node he/she has access to. The files can be viewed in full size if it is a PNG or JPEG file by clicking on the image.
All files available for a user can be downloaded by the user. It is also possible to narrow the selection by either filter on date or filter by the Hierarchical filter.

Improved chart layout and table information in Employee/Stakeholder reports
The charts in Stakeholder projects have a new layout and the columns on the side of the charts have more possibilities:
- Different Column definitions (Schemas) on different part of the organization
- Freely choose an organization group as column which can optionally be filtered
- Share of Don’t Know/No Answers as column
